About us

We are a team of experienced movers and shakers and executives who have been dealing with many facets of the topic “digital” for 15 years. In the middle of the 90’s we started to understand the internet with its possibilities inwards and outwards and to learn from internet pioneers like eBay, Paypal, Google, Rocket, Groupon, mobile.de, rakuten from the bottom up. What we could not make there in experiences, we have learned in several self-established enterprises or new business areas in Germany and Switzerland. In this way, the largest Swiss marketplace (siroop.ch – now mircrospot.ch) or the largest German online new car market at mobile.de was created.

We have learned and proven several times that we can test completely digital new or profiting business areas, successfully build them up and carefully embed and scale them into a larger organisation:

Tom started his digital career at eBay/Paypal in 2005. During his almost 10-year journey with the American company, he was responsible for the entire Home & Garden business for eBay from London for 3 years, headed the European service strategy for eBay and developed and scaled the largest new car portal for mobile.de with his team.

He then built the marketplace for the largest European furniture e-tailer home24 before devoting himself completely to new digital business models. This started in 2015 in Switzerland with siroop.ch, where he built up the largest marketplace in Switzerland as employee #2 in a short time. After the successful integration into the Coop Group, Tom founded two more startups, one of which was the successful development of a digital business model for one of the largest European event agencies.

His expertise focuses on these areas: Developing digital business models to disrupt industries, deriving and coordinating innovation and growth initiatives, pricing, customer centricity, marketplaces, and building a customer-focused and innovation-driven organization.

Falko has been working for digital retailers and marketplaces from the beginning. He has led Groupon (Rocket Venture), Rakuten, Home24 (Rocket Venture) and Siroop in relevant areas.
He has always been concerned with data structures, data exchange and processes. The design and analysis of processes as well as the holistic consideration and improvement of distributed process landscapes are at the core of his work.
His expertise ranges from the integration of digital payment methods, digital invoicing, internal data exchange to digital customer and supplier communication.

Fabian Gerstung

Fabian is a trade expert and has almost 20 years of experience in both the manufacturing and trading sides in leading positions or in the management of B2C and B2B projects. His focus is on strategy consulting, business development and category management with a digital background.

He is also a SCRUM Master, Agile Coach and Business Mediator with a focus on organisational development, communication methods and agile project management.

His expertise lies in digitization, purchasing and sales topics, in particular in eCommerce and the development of digital marketplaces. He has already proven this in companies such as Nike, Blackroll, Keller Sports, mysportgroup, siroop and others.

Since 2001, Andreas has been mainly involved in the development and expansion of e-commerce channels and is our specialist in the areas of category management, purchasing management, content management, as well as the development and management of agile and cross-functional teams.

Following his slogan “empowerment is the key to success”, he is predestined for the development of new corporate cultures, especially with the employee generations Generation Y (Millennials) and Generation Z.

Andreas was able to prove himself successfully with his work for the digitalization of retail companies as well as marketplaces.

His CV includes companies such as siroop.ch, Microspot.ch, Interdiscount.ch, keller-sports.com and many more.

Varun Thunuguntla

Varun is our expert for the topics “Mobile” and “Online-Marketing”. Equipped with a master’s degree from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, Varun initially worked for Google for several years and developed into an expert in “online marketing”. Via Paris – where he worked at General Electric – Varun came to Berlin in 2012, where he was responsible for mobile marketing at Zalando. Other stations where Varun’s online and mobile marketing skills were used were Aeria Games Europe GmbH (ProSieben Sat1.), MeteoGroup in Berlin and IDAGIO GmbH (largest streaming service for classical music). There, as Director Marketing, he was responsible for large teams and marketing budgets and was an essential guarantee of success for the international growth of these start-ups.
