Today Home24 is Europe’s largest online furniture retailer. Initially founded as a pure furniture retailer, Home24 quickly recognised the opportunities of an additional marketplace. In this way, it was possible to quickly and risk-free cover product ranges and certain brand and price ranges via other furniture manufacturers and dealers, in order to provide customers with a “one-stop shopping experience” in the furniture sector. Here it was our task to design the marketplace conceptually, technologically, logistically and price-wise, to acquire dealers and to ensure that the required assortments are available via the marketplace. At the same time, we piloted whether a marketplace was suitable for rapid internationalisation and then rolled it out to various national markets.
